Last Updated: February 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how NoteVault collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
1. Information We Collect
- Personal Information: We collect your email address and display name when you register for an account.
- Content: All text, links, and data you submit within your notes are stored on our servers for you to access.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is strictly used to provide the core functionality of NoteVault. Your data allows you to log in securely and access your notes seamlessly across different devices.
3. Data Security and Risks
We rely on Google Firebase to handle authentication and database storage securely. However, the internet is not entirely secure. By using NoteVault, you acknowledge and agree that:
- We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your notes or personal data against hackers or data breaches.
- You should NOT store extremely sensitive information (e.g., social security numbers, banking passwords, crypto keys) in this application.
- We are not responsible or liable for any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
4. Data Loss
We do not offer guarantees against data loss. Although data is stored securely in the cloud, accidental loss or corruption may occur. You remain solely responsible for maintaining local backups of any important information.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties. NoteVault provides a feature to share individual notes via a secure link with other people. If you choose to share a note, that specific note content becomes accessible to anyone with the link (and the password, if set).
6. Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase for authentication and database services. Your data is stored on Firebase servers and is subject to Google's general privacy practices and terms of service.
